Project Manager/Web Developer Married 5 One on the way! Yes
After graduating from Kent State in August 1973 with an Accounting degree, I moved to the Washington DC area in February 1974. Over the course of 36 years, I  worked for several Inspector General offices in the auditing arena, but found that to be a bit boring and moved into web development.  I spent several years as an Intranet Project Manager, developing some web sites and creating a few ASP applications.  In 2010 I retired from the Federal Government and the Northern Virhina Community College, which I worked in the evenings for approximately 15 years, in At that time I became a Consultant and I am currently a Project Manager for the Deapartment of Homeland Security providing direction to our network engineering team. While stressful, it’s rewarding given the sensitivity and significance of the work.

While divorced in 2013, I was incredibly fortunate to be part of raising five children. Of course everyone praises their children, I can’t say enough about how proud I am to be their father. As mentioned I am extremely lucky. All five children are successful and on their own.My oldest is an Elaectrial Engineer residing in. Boston. He’s married and is parenting my two grandchildren. My second owns the Hokie House Restaurant in Blacksburg, VA (Virginia Tech) and stays quite busy. My next two boys are local in the Washington DC area and are successful in the IT area. My fifth,  and my only girl, graduated from Ohuo State and lives in New Albany, Ohio. She is married and is a manager at Zulili.

I currently reside in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. At the time of my last status writing I Indicated that I planned to retire in 2010. So much for that thought.

Certainly looking forward to seeing everyone at the 50th.

Retired Nurse Divorced 2 4 Yes https://www.facebook.com/bettina.nugent
Here we are, Class of '68, meeting for our 50th.  Seems like yesterday, as the old cliche goes, that we were walking the halls of CFHS as students and now we are Medicare-aged alum meeting to exchange memories of the last decades we have journeyed through.  Life has changed for me the last 10 years, but God always has a plan!  My wonderful job in Westlake, OH at St. John Medical Center came to an abrupt end in 2015 when we were acquired by University Hospitals of Cleveland.  My department of one nurse, me, and one geriatrician was closed as a cost savings.  As a Catholic hospital, there were several jobs in ministry that were axed.  After 28 years, I packed up and headed home.  Those of you who have been through this know how devastating it is.  Good old corporate America has no feelings.  A few weeks later, my realtor called to tell me her co-worker had a client who wanted to buy my condo, which was not for sale.  With the blessing of my two sons, I showed my cluster condo to a woman who "saw, bid the same day, I countered and it was sold"!!  I had an estate sale three weeks later and sold almost everything I owned.  After 9 going away parties and a very tearful goodbye to my son in Columbus, I boarded a plane for Naples, Florida.  Sure, I leave CLE and the CAVS win!  But with my son and his family living here, it has  been wonderful especially being so close with my young grandchildren.  I am picking up some Geriatric nursing jobs as an assessment nurse and needless to say there are plenty of geriatric patients in Naples.  Although technically I am a "Geriatric Geriatric Nurse", I do love nursing so much.  I found a lovely condo that is so right for me and love my new Parish, St. John the Evangelist.  I am active in St. Vincent de Paul and worked Hurricane Disaster Recovery and Ladies of Charity.  I won the "Nonna's Best Meatball Contest" last year at our "Gaelic-Garlic Festival".    I was blessed to be in Ohio meeting a new grandson when Hurricaine Irma came to town.  I came home to such devastation throughout Naples.  But it is a miracle there was no loss of life.  I had a knee replacement in February and now have a matched set!  I am a 5 year Breast Cancer Survivor this month and so grateful for all the prayers of support that meant so much. I am coordinating our monthly socials at my condo development and have met many very nice people.  So many Ohio people in Naples!

My oldest son Joe has two children.  Logan is 8 and Maddy is 5.  They come for dinner every other Sunday and I just love seeing them here and at church.  I missed so much of their baby years living in Ohio.  Joe is in the hotel industry and also is  the owner of  "Joe the Home Pro" and is certified in home inspection and home watch.

Rob is married and has a (step-we don't use that word) son Dominic 10 and Cameron 9 months.  He lives in Columbus and is in the insurance business, taking time to play ice hockey twice a week.  My wonderful daughter-in-law is the owner of You're Invited, an invitation and design business.  I do get to Ohio several times a year to see family in Columbus & Akron and visit so many friends in the Cleveland area.  Always stop in at St. Ed's High School to visit administration.  I do work on their auction every year.  Just can't break away from that.  They have a yearly gathering of Alum and Friends in Naples which is very fun to attend.  So my life is full as a mom, "Nonna" to four grandchildren, new friends and a church that fills my soul.  Leaving Ohio after almost 66 years happened so quickly, but I'm just a plane ride away from O-H-I-O to see friends and family.  Looking so forward to seeing you at our 50th reunion.  Thanks to Mark Noonan and his committee for all their time and effort!  God Bless us all in health and happiness and safe days ahead during Hurricane season for those of us affected.

gilder, painter www.firegold.com Divorced 1 No *****
I live on the coast of Maine. My daughter, Lila, lives a few miles away.
After college I became a sign painter. I should have paid more attention in Mr. Cosgaria's class and learned to spell gooder.
Now I specialize in gold leafing and decorative painting on antique vehicles for restorers, museums and collectors. Most of my work is on antique fire engines. I also do gilding and painting on yachts for local boat yards. In high school I found history class tedious. Now I thoroughly enjoy researching the antiques I am decorating. If I could have looked into the future from Falls High and seen myself now, I never would have believed it.
I will be on a business trip during the reunion and will not be attending.

October 2017 An update.
Many thanks to Mark Noonan and Barb Tresch too!  The updated information on nearly 800 classmates is quite an undertaking and you have done an amazing job!

Hoping to see everyone at our 50th!  We have a great group of classmates working on the preparations and plans for an awesome September 2018 event!

On a personal note, I am retired from teaching math in the Stow Munroe Falls School District and a short career with Apple.  I am trying  to golf,  enjoy traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.  I am living in Silver Lake with a cute Australian Labradoodle,  Sydney.  He keeps things lively.

I have 6 beautiful grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls ages ranging from 7 to 16 years old.

Life continues to move upward and onward.  I'm very grateful for the many blessings I've experienced.

2007??  Life has been good!
My husband Bill and I live in Munroe Falls, not far from where I teach math at the middle school in Stow.  Bill is a retired anesthesiologist and we have been married for 18 years.  My children are grown.  Matthew lives the Columbus Ohio (go Bucks)  area and he and his wife Nikki have two little girls, Kennedy and Abbie.  My son Joshua and and daughter Jennifer live in Jackson Township.  Jenn is married to Jeremy and has a little boy, Tyler and baby girl, Elleana.
I finished my Bachelor's after my children had finished middle school.  Returning to the University of Akron in 1992 and graduating in 1994.  Soooooo very different did I find the campus to be in the 90's compared to the late 60's and early 70's.  I was fortunate to get a teaching position in the Stow Munroe Falls City School District and have been teaching math since then.  I have also taught Instructional Technology in the College of Education at the U of Akron as a part time instructor.
I earned my Masters in Education in 2004!  I agree with Pam Brown, not easy returning to school this late in life - but goal accomplished.
So many fond memories of our high school days and just growing up in Cuyahoga Falls!  It will be great to see everyone in October!
Hugs and good wishes to all of you!

2018 Update:
Love being retired (it’s been almost 6 years)! It’s like every day is Saturday. I am busier now than when I worked (over 44 years at FirstEnergy). I love babysitting my grandkids, spending time with my girlfriends at lunch, volunteering, taking vacations, biking with my husband, exercising, visiting my sister in MS, and relaxing at night on the deck with a glass of wine! I am very blessed to have a husband that puts up with my craziness & makes me feel like a princess!

2012 Information:

Now about me…..after graduation, I started working for Ohio Edison (the local electric company).   The company has bought three other electric companies over the past 15 years and is now called FirstEnergy.  It is the largest investor-owned utility in the U.S. now (over 18,000 employees in six states), and I have almost completed my 44th year there.    I did have the pleasure of working with a fellow classmate for over 30 years - - Roger McElroy - - but he retired a few years ago – lucky man!!!  This just might be my lucky year to start a  new career as 'retiree'.

In 2003, I completed my BA Degree in Business from Walsh University – which was a personal goal I had set.   Since I had a job right out of high school, I never had an opportunity to go to college until my kids were older.

For my personal side, I have been married/divorced a few times but I am currently married to my best friend and soul mate (going on 18 years).   It took me a while to find the right person, but it finally happened.

We have five grown children in a "blended" family.  We also have five grandchildren (13, 12, 8, 1-1/2. and 4 months).   One of my daughters lives in Toledo and will be a Nurse Practioner next year.  The other daughter lives in Michigan and owns a business.  My son is in construction and lives in Jackson Township area.  The grandkids are my pride and joy……my heart still melts when I hear them call me “grandma”.   I guess it doesn’t bother me about being a grandma since I don’t actually “feel” old.

May 2018 Update:
In 2013 my husband, Dave, was diagnosed with skin cancer and in October 2014 after nine surgeries and making a strong fight against that ugly "C" word, passed away. My grandkids, Caleb and Lydia, along with my family have been a big support over these last 3 1/2 years. He has dearly been missed and will forever be remembered by all of us. More recently I have been crafting, quilting, going to my grandchildren's activities and volunteering at their school one day a week. I am looking forward to the 50th reunion in September to rekindle old friendships. Hope to see many of you there.

Original:
My husband, Dave and I have been married 38 years. We had two daughters that are college graduates, one completed her masters and the other is working on her's at KSU now and will be done May '10.
We have a grandson, Caleb (3 yrs. old) and a granddaughter, Lydia (l l/2 years old), who are living in Cuyahoga Falls with my one daughter and son-in-law.

My husband and I will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2019. We have been so very blessed. Gary and I raised a son and a daughter. We live in Munroe Falls. All 4 of us graduated from Kent State. Our kids still live in the area and each has a son and a daughter. We have 4 grandchildren who have brought us much joy. I spent most of my professional life as an HR Director. Now that I am retired I do volunteer work, including teaching ESL at Jennings. I also write and am starting to get some stuff published.

In 2016 I lost my twin sister Sandi to cancer. Every now and then I run into a '68 classmate. We don't always recognize each other, though, so maybe that number is higher than I think it is!

2018 Update:
Greg and I live in the little village of Fontana on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin. It's a great location, a short walk to the lake, about one hour to Milwaukee, Chicago and Madison. Close to beautiful state parks and hiking trails. One to four hours from our children and grandchildren, ages one to twenty-one. Greg is still working hard. I retired four years ago. I have continued to stay busy volunteering on the board of the Association for Prevention of Family Violence and the steering committee for New Beginnings, working on planning and raising funds for a women's shelter in our county. We live with two sweet toy poodles, Zoe and Ruby. I spend my "free time" walking, doing a little gardening, volunteering, doing fun things with our friends and children. I love to cook and would probably redecorate the house on a rotating basis if I could. I golf a bit, however Greg is the real golfer in the family. We are making our bucket list of travels for the years after Greg retires. Just made our reservations and we are looking forward to seeing friends at our reunion in September.

2013:
Looking forward to seeing friends of yesteryear and visiting CF in July. Unfortunately Greg can't get away from work so I will be solo. There are advantages to retiring from my full time responsibilities. I can usually set my own schedule. Left Aurora University George Williams College last September. In February a former colleague/friend and I started Windward Communications, a small (read 3 employees) marketing and events organization out of Madison, Wisc., although I do most of my work from home in Fontana. Looking forward to a few more years of planning and marketing events large and small.
